Il RossoCampania Rosso IGP

An engaging red with pronounced notes of amarena cherry, blackberry and dried plum, a gentle hint of sweet spice and a finish of pleasantly concentrated fruit.

Il Rosso is 100% Aglianico, the great red grape of southern Italy — not a blend. The grapes are hand-picked and selected in late October; after around twelve days on the skins, the wine matures for six months in French oak barrels.

Hearty primi, cured meats and roast pork — and just as happily vegetarian dishes in rich, spiced sauces and finely seasoned recipes. The Rosso loves anything with spice and substance; serve it at 16 to 18 °C in a red-wine glass.

“La poesia in bottiglia”: a wine for long evenings, full tables and conversations that refuse to end. Ideal for a shared dinner of robust cooking — served at 16 to 18 °C and opened a scant hour ahead.

IGP stands for “Indicazione Geografica Protetta”, the protected geographical indication. “Campania Rosso I.G.P.” is the designation shown on this wine's label and data sheet.
